Welcome!
My name is Bi Zhao. I am an assistant professor at the Department of Political Science at Gonzaga University. I specialize in International Relations and Methodology, with a substantive focus on democratic legitimacy in global governance, non-state actors, and international environmental politics. I received my Ph.D. in political science from Purdue University in 2020. My research has been published in Environmental Policy and Governance, Journal of Human Rights, among others. In our (co-authored with Takumi Shibaike) book, Who Tells Your Story? Women and Indigenous Peoples' Advocacy at the UNFCCC (Cambridge University Press), we explore the issue framing strategy of civil society groups in global climate change governance venue and how their framing mechanisms might impact the institution’s democratic quality in the long run.
